The Huntington Chamber Choir is delighted to present “Music of the Holidays”! South Huntington Public Library, Sunday, December 17th at 2pm! 145 Pidgeon Hill Road, Huntington Station, NY 11746 Music will include time-honored favorites, newly arranged by American composers plus a few surprises of Winter or Holiday delights. We will conclude with a Sing-a-long (lyric sheets provided) of old favorites! This informal performance is perfect for music lovers of all ages, so come and stay for a song or an hour!

Spring 2019 Recital is a Big Hit

The Huntington Chamber Choir was at it again with an incredible performance on Sunday, May 19th, 2019. Led by director Judy Leopold, the Huntington Chamber Choir serenaded the audience with musical selections ranging from Brahm’s famous “Wondrous Cool, Thou Woodland Quiet” and new choral repertoire like Shawn Kirchner’s “I Will Arise and Go”. After the recital, the audience was treated to a light reception, where the community and choir gathered to celebrate the exquisite music performed. We all look forward to Winter 2019!

Carnegie Hall Again!

Members of the Huntington Chamber Choir have just returned from a rewarding musical experience in Manhattan. Maestro Z. Randall Stroope led a choir from seven different states for a performance at Carnegie Hall on June 4th, 2017. The Maestro graciously directed all the rehearsals and obliged autograph seekers after each rehearsal ended. He was especially generous with his time to HCC members which he referred to as “the sound of this group” and was complimentary to our conductor. The Carnegie Hall performance included some of our Spring 2017 repertoire which is available on our website.

Auditions for the Fall 2017 Season

The Huntington Chamber Choir will begin its Fall 2017 season with auditions on Sunday, August 27th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Congregational Church of Huntington. Auditions can also be scheduled by appointment with Director Judy Leopold at leopold@huntingtonsings.com Rehearsals begin on the Sunday, September 10th and run from 6:30 to 9:00pm at the Church. To date the Chorus has performed with the Huntington Community Band at Heckscher Park, at Opera Night in Northport and in Oyster Bay, and with the National Festival Chorus at Carnegie Hall as well as annual Winter and Spring Recitals at the Church. Music is varied from the past to the present and performed a cappella, with piano, and with other instrumental accompaniment such as strings, winds and harp with horns.   The Congregational Church of Huntington is located at 30 Washington Drive, Centerport, just across from the Crescent Club. Our goal is to provide singers who love the ensemble experience an opportunity to perform great music with adult friends of all ages. Every rehearsal promises to be an inspiring learning experience with new music as well as masterpieces of the great choral tradition, a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment.

The Huntington Community Chorus to Hold Auditions

The Huntington Community Chorus capped off its Innaugural Year in Heckscher Park as guests of The Huntington Community Band on July 2nd. Other performances included Winter and Spring Recitals, Opera Night in Northport, and an appearance as part of the National Festival Chorus at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Jerry Blackstone. Before we begin rehearsals for our Winter 2015 Recital, auditions for new members will be held on two Sundays, August 23 and 30, from 6:30-8:00pm at The Congregational Church of Huntington on Washington Drive. Rehearsals Resume After Our Debut Recital

Our Debut Recital was tremendously successful, with a sold-out house and coverage in The Long Islander. Please click the music tab on this website to listen to samples. On January 11th we resume rehearsals for the next two performances: “A Bouquet of Love Songs,” which will be performed for Northport’s Opera Night and a Spring “Community Chorus Festival” under the direction of University of Michigan’s Jerry Blackstone at Carnegie Hall. Huntington Sings!

The newly formed Huntington Community Chorus will audition singers on Sunday evenings through October 19th at the Congregational Church of Huntington, 30 Washington Drive, Centerport, just across from the Crescent Club. Our goal is to provide singers who love the ensemble experience an opportunity to perform great music with adult friends of all ages.

Every rehearsal promises to be an inspiring learning experience with new music as well as masterpieces of the great choral tradition, a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment. Our three-season year will rehearse Sunday evenings from 7-9pm. Performances will include a Winter Recital (including the Mozart “Regina Coeli”), a Spring Festival at Carnegie Hall (under the direction of University of Michigan’s Jerry Blackstone), an appearance at Opera Night in Northport, and a Summer Concert with the Huntington Community Band in Heckscher Park to mark their 70th Anniversary.
